A British court has given Ober drivers the status of employees of the company
London: A British court has given Ober drivers the status of employees of the company. Uber drivers will now be eligible for all benefits, including the minimum wage.
A seven-member bench of the British Supreme Court ruled in the case, which has been pending for a year. The decision states that Uber drivers are employees of the company and should receive the same benefits as other employees.
It may be recalled that a local court had passed such a verdict against Uber in 2016 against which Uber had appealed to the Supreme Court.
