Anti-trafficking campaign saves country from 6 billion loss: Tariq Huda
Member Pakistan Customs Tariq Huda has said that Customs will achieve the revenue target of Rs. Phones will be made by Pakistan itself.
A special function was held at Customs House Karachi on the occasion of World Customs Day. Addressing the function, Member Customs Tariq Huda said that in line with the vision of the Prime Minister, this year Customs has adopted an effective strategy against smuggling.
He said that in the operations so far, Customs has stopped the smuggling of 2 2 billion worth of mobile phones, 1.5 billion in Afghan transit and 2 2 billion in smuggling of petroleum products. Saved from the loss of the dollar.
Member Customs said that by stopping the smuggling of mobile phones, Pakistan’s own mobile phone industry is growing rapidly and this year Pakistan will make 20 million mobile phones itself and will soon join the list of mobile phone exporting countries.
He said that stopping car smuggling was improving the car industry in the country. A three-pronged strategy has been formulated to curb the smuggling of petroleum products.
As many as 1,600 centers selling smuggled petroleum products have been sealed and the target is to close 2,500 such sales points this year. The work is coming.
