By 2025, 44 state-owned enterprises will be privatized

ISLAMABAD: A review report of loss-making state-owned enterprises under the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has revealed that by 2025, 44 state-owned enterprises will be privatized.
A review report of 84 state-owned enterprises has been completed as part of the IMF’s structured infrastructure, which also has the support of the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank, released by the Finance Ministry yesterday.
The report shows that the government will retain 39 companies while privatizing 44 companies, including the power sector, while the government has claimed a 50 per cent reduction in losses in the power sector in its first year.
