China withdraws 10,000 troops from deep areas near LAC in eastern Ladakh
Amid an eight-month conflict between India and China, the Chinese military has withdrawn about 10,000 troops from deep areas near the Line of Actual Control (LOC) in eastern Ladakh. Troops from both sides are facing each other at several locations. Official sources told ANI that the Chinese army has withdrawn about 10,000 troops from its traditional training areas, in contrast to the eastern Ladakh sector and nearby areas. The Chinese traditional training area is about 150 km and the LAC is far from India. China deployed the troops between April and May last year.
Sources said that a large quantity of weapons has been kept by the Chinese army near the Indian border. Sources said that the reason for the withdrawal of troops from the deep areas could be the extreme cold and it may be difficult for them to deploy a large number of troops in this cold area.
