Iran has 90% uranium enrichment capability
President Hassan Rouhani has said that Iran has the potential to enrich uranium to 90%.
According to international media reports, President Hassan Rouhani’s statement came after the Natanz cyber attack. Iran has vowed to retaliate by blaming Israel for the attack on the Natanz nuclear facility.
In response to the attack, President Hassan Rouhani has announced a 60% increase in uranium enrichment. In a televised address, Hassan Rouhani said Iran had the potential to enrich uranium to 90 percent.
“Today we can increase uranium enrichment to 90% if we want, but we have kept our word from day one that our nuclear activities are peaceful. We are not trying to get an atomic bomb,” he said.
Hassan Rouhani said that it was their fault that Europe and the United States had raised concerns over Iran’s nuclear program. “Our nuclear program is peaceful. The only way for the United States and other countries involved in the nuclear deal is to join the UN Security Council Fully implement Resolution 231.
He said that if this happens, Iran will also abide by the agreement and will resume full implementation of the agreement without any delay.
