Queen Elizabeth is accused of legislating under pressure to hide her personal wealth
The British newspaper has alleged that Queen Elizabeth II obtained legal immunity in the 70’s to hide her personal wealth from the public.
The British newspaper says that the Queen’s personal lawyer put pressure on the British ministers to bring such a change in the law so that the Queen can keep her personal shares in any business or company secret from the public.
According to the newspaper, under the pressure of the Queen, the government added a new provision in the law under which the government has the power to grant exemption to companies holding shares of the head of state.
The paper says the legislation was passed in 1970 for the state-run Shell Corporation, which had Queen’s shares and investments.
