Russia’s largest diamond ready for auction
MOSCOW: Russia’s largest ever 100.94 carat diamond will be auctioned in Geneva later this month.
According to Russian media, the diamond, called Alroza Spectacle, will be worth between 13 13 million and 19 19 million when it is cut on May 12.
Maryam Cecil, an expert at the auction house’s jewelry department, said the beautiful De Rubgin diamond was cut from a thick stone that weighed more than 200 carats.
He added that it was called Sergei Diagliff’s rough diamond and was mined in 2016.
According to Mary Cecil, it took a year and eight months to cut the stone, after which the diamond is now in a beautiful shape.
