The federal cabinet approved a Ramadan package of Rs 7.8 billion
After the cabinet meeting, Federal Minister for Industry and Trade Hamad Azhar during a press briefing with Fawad Chaudhry said that under the Ramadan package, a discount of Rs 30.50 on flour, Rs 40 on sugar and Rs 43 on ghee, depending on the current price in the market. Rs.20 on oil, Rs.15 on dal gram, Rs.10 on dal mung and dal mash, Rs.30 per kg on dal lentils, Rs.25 per kg on white gram, Rs.20 per kg on basin, Rs.20 per kg on dates, Rs.10 per kg on rice. The subsidy will be Rs 12 per kg on broken rice and also on various beverages, milk and chillies.
Hamad Azhar further said that 51 out of 85 government entities are profitable. The Cabinet also approved forensic audit of loss-making entities. The Cabinet was informed that in the first phase, Pakistan Railways, Pakistan International Airlines Corporation, Sui Southern Gas Company Limited, Peshawar Electric Supply Company and Genco Three Northern Power Generation Company Limited are being subjected to forensic audit. This process will be completed by June 30, 2021.
