The world’s most expensive telescope took the ‘first picture’ of the stars!
Houston, Texas: The US space agency NASA has released the first test image of the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST).
This image is of the stars of the famous cluster ‘Duba Akbar’ (Big Bear) in the northern sky, the main star being ‘HD 84406’ which is 258 light years away from our earth. (That is, it takes 258 years for the light of this star to reach us.)
It should be noted that the actual mission of the world’s most expensive space telescope ‘JWST’, which was developed at a cost of ten billion dollars, has not started yet but its 18 mirrors are being carefully aligned in the test phase.
By the time May or June of this year, when all the testing phases have been completed, it will begin regular imagery of the universe.
