US military strikes on Iranian-backed militia on Iraqi-Syrian border, killing 4
The U.S. military says an airstrike on an Iranian-backed militia on the Iraqi-Syrian border has killed at least four people.
According to Arab media, the Pentagon has also confirmed air strikes on Iranian-backed militia positions on the Iraq-Syria border.
The Pentagon said in a statement that the US military had responded to drone strikes by Iranian-backed militias.
According to the US Department of Defense, President Joe Biden ordered the operation against the Iranian-backed militia and the airstrikes targeted the militia’s arsenal.
According to Arab media, at least four people were killed in the US air strikes, but the Iranian-backed militia has not yet issued a statement in this regard.
On the other hand, Pentagon press secretary John Kirby said that President Biden has called for further action on targeting US interests in Iraq.
